Join Our Inter-Cultural Sunday Service at Abbey Baptist Church

A welcoming community where we worship, learn, and grow in faith.

At Abbey Baptist Church, we believe that Jesus, Bible, and Prayer are at the heart of everything we do. Our Sunday morning worship brings together people from all backgrounds, offering a place of fellowship, understanding, and spiritual growth.

What to Expect on a Sunday

Our Sunday service is designed to be accessible and meaningful for those from any cultural background.

  • We have chosen to have a formal style of written worship, which does vary every week, and with the sermon also written out in advance. This enables us to have a prepared translation in any language that is needed. This is principally at present into Farsi for our Iranian members and Cantonese for our Hong Kong members. But we also translate into any other required language. So please come along even if your Engliah is not very good as we will be able to help you access the service. Sunday Worship:Enjoy worship, prayer, and teaching from the Bible.
  • Sunday School:  Divided into three groups: Infants GroupPrimary Group and Secondary group.
  • Tea and Coffee: Enjoy a friendly chat and refreshments after the service.
    • Communion: We share communion twice a month to remember the sacrifice of Jesus and renew our commitment to following Him.

Diving into Faith

We’re all in different places with our faith, some just starting to explore what Christianity means, while others are delving deeper into their faith having been a Christian for many years.  Wherever we are on the journey, we are there to help each other to learn and grow.

We believe that Jesus is Lord in our lives, that we can depend on His Word and that together we are His Church.  We believe that when we make the choice to follow Jesus, we should follow His example and be baptised as a symbol of our choice to follow Him.  If you’d like to find out more about what baptism means, speak to our Minister or one of our leaders – they’ll be happy to talk about it.
