FairTrade Stall Every Month

FairTrade Logo

Fairtrade is a global movement that aims to improve the lives of farmers and workers in developing countries by ensuring they have access to export markets and are paid a fair price for their products.

This means that the producers get their fair share of the profits(rather than all of the profits going to big corporations).  It puts fair prices first because farmers and workers in developing countries deserve a decent income and decent work.

Abbey Baptist Church proudly supports this vision as a practical way to follow Jesus’ example of supporting the weak and the powerless.

We hold a fairtrade stall on the second Sunday of every month. Chocolate, coffee and tea are our the most popular items, but we also sell many other fairtrade items such as sugar, nuts, biscuits, dried fruit, jam, honey, olive oil, rice, lentils and Advent calendars.
