Re-establishment of Central West/Caversham Connect Group (September 2024)
In September 2024, the Central West/Caversham Connect Group was re-established with 9 members, including 3 team leaders. All members are from Hong Kong.
Our Purpose and Hope
We aim to support one another, share Christ’s love, and foster a strong sense of belonging. We hope everyone will engage actively in the group.
Engagement in Bi-monthly Activities
The church’s bi-monthly connect group activities were attended by team members enthusiastically. Everyone were happy to share and prayed to remember what they needed.
Social Gatherings & Evangelical Bible Study
Beyond our regular church activities, we also enjoyed informal gatherings that helped strengthen our bonds as a community. Members often came together for lunches at local pubs, where we could relax and share fellowship in a more casual setting. We also hosted traditional Chinese-style ‘hotpot’ meals at various members’ homes, where food and conversation flowed freely, creating a warm and welcoming environment. These gatherings provided opportunities for deeper connections and served as a reminder of the importance of community in nurturing our faith. It was through these shared moments that we not only built friendships but also supported each other in our spiritual journeys.
As part of our outreach efforts, we started inviting seekers—those who are exploring the Christian faith—to join our evangelical Bible study sessions. These gatherings provide a safe space for open discussion and learning about God’s Word. Through our conversations, we aim to share the love of Christ, hoping that seekers will experience God’s transformative grace. We trust in God’s perfect timing and believe that He is guiding them on their spiritual path. Our prayer is that, through these studies, seekers will feel drawn closer to God and recognise His love and purpose for their lives. We remain patient and hopeful, knowing that God’s work in their hearts will unfold as He desires.
Development of Our Group
Last year, our group faced fluctuating membership, which led us to merge with the Central Reading Connect Group to maintain stability and continue fostering community. Despite the challenges, this collaboration helped strengthen our relationships and deepen our faith. In September 2024, after careful reflection and prayer, we reorganised as the Central West/Caversham Connect Group. This transition has brought renewed energy and purpose to our group. Since then, our membership has steadily grown, and we are seeing more consistent participation in our gatherings. We believe this growth is a clear sign of God’s hand at work, guiding us toward greater unity and purpose. We trust that as we continue to follow His lead, the group will flourish in both numbers and spiritual depth.
As Romans 12:12 「Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer」.
