Connect Group – Reading Central South

Our church is blessed with many brothers and sisters, and we organise them into connect groups based on their geographic areas. This structure enables us to care for one another more effectively and foster stronger relationships within our local communities..

Fostering Spiritual Growth Through Love and Care

Our connect groups focus on sharing God’s love and care among members, fostering an environment where everyone can grow spiritually together. This supportive atmosphere encourages meaningful relationships and deepens our faith as a community.

Building Bonds Through Fellowship and Shared Activities

We prioritise visiting members’ homes and gathering regularly for meals and prayer after Sunday services. In our connect groups, we share Bible verses and God’s teachings, study the Scriptures together, and celebrate birthdays as a community. These activities strengthen our bonds and nurture our spiritual growth.

Welcoming Newcomers and Celebrating Faith Journeys

Some group members have come to believe in Jesus, with one even getting baptised. A few months ago, we visited a newcomer’s family who had recently moved to Reading. They were warm and welcoming, expressing gratitude for our visit. In turn, we appreciated their hospitality as they treated us to homemade cake, snacks, and red wine. During our time together, we shared family stories and prayed, deepening our connection as a community.

We celebrated birthdays together, creating joyful memories and reinforcing our sense of community.

Sharing meals further strengthened our relationships, with these moments fostering connection and deepening our bonds.

Deepening Spiritual Growth Through Bible Study and Prayer

Our group regularly gathered to study the Bible and pray, creating opportunities for reflection and shared learning. Through discussions, we uncovered fresh insights and strengthened our faith together. Additionally, prayer sessions allowed us to share concerns and seek God’s guidance. These gatherings fostered unity, encouraging spiritual renewal and deeper connections within the group. As we continued, our understanding of Scripture grew, and our community bond became even stronger.

Welcoming New Families with Love and Connection

When a new family arrived, we quickly visited them to extend a warm welcome and build friendships. During our visits, we shared personal stories and listened attentively to theirs, fostering mutual understanding. We also prayed together, seeking God’s blessings and guidance for their journey and ours. These moments deepened their sense of belonging and strengthened our community’s unity. By actively reaching out, we emphasised the importance of connection and support within our faith group.
